The Samsung S2 Plus to Be Expected Soon

s2 plusDuring this year’s CES, Samsung was rather hushed about their mobile devices, but the assumption is that they are saving this for the MWC instead. However, they did announce the Galaxy SII Plus. While it is not slated to fight a battle for the top with the S3, it hopes to give the last lease of life to the wildly successful SII, and possibly keep its name alive before the new S4 comes along and steals the spotlight for itself.

The S2 Plus does share the same finish as the Galaxy S3, and this grants it premium looks that are pleasing. Not that they were missing in its predecessor, but they are just more pronounced in this one. The overall design is the same as the SII, and even under the hood, not much has changed. The only difference is in the new chipset, which promises much faster performance. The camera is still an 8MP, but this time, there is no shutter lag, which means you’ll enjoy principal photography more. The memory capacity has been reduced to 8GB. On the plus side, it can handle bigger memory cards; as big as 64GB, which is twice as much as its predecessor could handle.

The question of whether the S2 is a worthy upgrade will depend on whether on the kind of price tag that will be slapped on the device. Considering that the S3 has faced a price cut across many dealers, the S2 will be perfect if its slotted right in the affordable midrange.
