EE the latest network to hit the UK shores

The 4G service has been introduced into UK by Everything Everywhere (EE) in 11 cities including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Edinburg and a few others. Apart from this, 2,000 square miles of network will be added on a monthly basis. By Christmas, EE plans to cover 16 cities, securing access to 4G network across UK.

After having re-purposed their existing 2G services, EE has finally been able to launch their 4G service, thus successful in placing itself ahead of O2 and Vodafone, at least until Ofcom decides to auction off the available spectrum. Offering 5 levels of contracts, EE lets customers pick plans depending upon their estimated data consumption. The 8GB plan is offered for £56, 5GB for £51, 3GB for £46, 1GB for £41 and 500MB for £36, on a monthly basis. Outside of the contracts, customers will be required to pay a subsidy upon purchasing a handset, except for in the case of Huawei Ascend P1 LTE. This includes tethering and free usage of VOiP. EE is also offering SIM cards at the following rates; 8GB for £41, 5GB for £36, 3GB for £31, 1GB for £26 and 500MB for £21, on a 12-months contract basis. Mobile broadband deals are available for anything between £15.99 for 2GB to £25.99 for 5GB, on 18 months contract basis.

The EE Film facility allows customers to benefit from two-for-one movie tickets every Wednesdays, download or stream films 79p onwards, or watch a free film every week across all devices, for a limited time period.

As for 4G enabled devices which will be available for customers at EE, they are as follows:

iPhone 5:

As Apple confirmed, the iPhone 5 will now be available to its users in UK through EE, after initially being on sale through T-Mobile and Orange. Once supported with 4G, the iPhone 5 will easily become the most popular among the gen-next range of devices. The 4 inch 1136 x 640 pixel Retina display and the A6 processor adds to the beauty of the lighter and thinner device.

Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE:

Once introduced in the UK smartphone market, the Galaxy S3 LTE will be able to perform efficiently on a quad-core processor at a speed of 1.4GHz, owing to its immense CPU potential, probably resulting in it becoming the most powerful 4G enabled device across UK.

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE:

After trying to find their way through the smartphone market for two years, Huawei has finally managed to introduce the Ascend P1 LTE just in time with EE’s 4G service. Backed by a dual-core processor, running at a speed of 1.5GHz, an 8MP camera and a 4.3 inches HD display, the Ascend is a decent pick. The only thing lacking is the limited storage space of 4GB.

Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820:

Already having captured the market with its Windows Phone 8 platform, Pure View feature, Pure Motion HD, the 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 32GB of storage space and 7GB of cloud storage, the availability of Nokia’s Lumia 920 on EE’s 4G services will most certainly help boost the sales of the device in UK. The smaller version of the phone in some aspects, Lumia 820, also follows suit.
